To keep up with the summer of Football, VICE have put together a new series called Playmakers. The series features artists from the new ‘Nike Stadiums’, which are a series of creative hubs located in London, New York, Tokyo, Paris, Milan and Berlin. Next week we have the Milan episode going live featuring the SUPER! collective. In the mean time, check out the New York episode focusing on Brazilian Wilson Egidio in New York.

VICE and Intel have this week commenced work on The Creators Project, a new network dedicated to the celebration of creativity and culture across media and around the world. Featuring visionaries such as Spike Jonze, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Phoenix and Chris Cunningham, our aim is to mash up art and technology with some of the best creatives from across the globe.

An interesting exploration of the history of Pirate Radio in England. The film has been put together by Palladium…they make boots if you don’t know. Pirate Radio developed when some felt radio stations were not catering to everyone with the music they played so they took to the seas and started broadcasting their own radio waves. Vice and Nintendo have commissioned seven artists to create a Pokémon inspired piece of artwork to celebrate Nintendo’s newest Pokemon releases on the DS, and are holding an exhibition to showcase the works, from 24th - 31st March, at Blackall Studios. The exhibition opens with a big launch party on the 24th, full of Nintendo product for guests to demo, Pokemon inspired food, lots of booze and a stellar line-up of DJs: Filthy Dukes, Friendly Fires and Real Gold. The event will be guestlist only, attended by members of the press, select tastemakers from the Vice network, and competition winners. Last week Nike celebrated their new True City iPhone application, a city guide from insiders for insiders, with a showroom exhibition and a launch party. The showroom exhibition took place in their Berlin Spirit Room and showcased the new application. On Wednesday they celebrated the new application. They got together with Patta, Pigalle and Firmament to party at Bar Tausend in Berlin. As you can imagine, with partners like these on board, the evening turned out fun.
