Back in 2009 they shot to online fame by releasing a music video consisting of well-choreographed webcam footage from their fans. This time around they’ve been even more ambitious and, despite being a relatively unknown act, produced arguably the best example of an interactive music video yet - “Mirror”. By connecting to both your Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as your webcam, the video comes to fruition in a bizarre display of cutting-edge browser capabilities, with the visual content becoming almost entirely personalised. It’s no surprise then that the site has gone hugely viral around the world.
SOUR have clearly outdone themselves. It’ll be very interesting to see what they can produce next. Either way, this video will no doubt inspire an array of similar music videos throughout 2011.

With no association to Warner Brothers this parody is amazing. The animation is beautiful, and almost brought a tear to my eye - then the end music kicked in and completely ruined it!

We think this is definitely worth 5.47 minutes of your day. A very powerful video directed by Spike Jonze for Arcade Fire’s new single ‘The Suburbs’.

Her debut single was downloaded over 4million times, and sold 56,000 copies of her single in the week it was released. It also won the Japan Gold Disc Award in 2009 - check this out, you might be a little surprised to see Ryo (Supercell)…

Not only is the Swedish beauty’s new single more delightful than a plateful of Ikea meatballs, it also has a beautiful graphic animation to accompany it. Really nice use of typography and the images are simply mesmerising.

Kate Morros & Alex Sushon collaborate with Simian Mobile Disco to create a Music/Graphic experience for their single Synthesise. There is also a great video with Kate & Alex’s commentary on the concept for the piece which is well worth checking out.

Why just play a record when you can wear it too? This is massively exciting and could go someway to reintroducing a physical element back into the music industry. The content is pre-recorded and cannot be changed or downloaded and like an LP, the sequence of the music can not be altered. The 4.5cm badge has a play/pause, skip and volume functions and runs on a re-chargeable lithium battery. I love how this is technology at it’s best, rejecting the best of technology. A new stop motion video for OK GO’s new single “Last Leaf”. A beautiful collaboration with Samsung and the company’s new NX100 camera witch captures a lot of decorated toast.

Michael Jackson, This is NOT it… as an album of new material is set to be released some time next month! The album will include all the tracks he was working on just before his death in June 2009 and will feature Will.i.am, Akon and Ne-Yo.
Some devoted fans are a bit upset over the release claiming they are not songs true to the star and Michael never wanted to release them only being forced by record label SONY to do so. It seem Wil.i.am is unhappy over the release as well saying “He was a perfectionist and he wouldn’t have wanted it that way,”
If you are against the release as always there is a Facebook group to join, just click the image above. But for those that are enthusiastic to hear the new material and let the legend live on then you can hear the new single “Breaking News” this coming Monday on the official Michael Jackson website.
