@WiredUK have gone digital and onto the iPad along with their Condenast collegues Vogue. The new apps are experiments to see how the publications live on the iPad platform, and to see how consumers take to the innovative new way to view their favourite magazines. As two trend setting magazines, they are truely setting the mile stone for others to follow.

Tweet It - a parody of Micheal Jackson’s “Beat It” and it is brilliant. We are a little late picking up this one but sod, just enjoy it!

Apple announce a new Netbook version of the Macbook Air, a new Mac operating system and a new suite of iLife software - and we missed it all due to being out of the office. Bloody typical. We hear that the Macbook Air has been brought up to date with the rest of the fleet and there is now an 11 inch version going into production - we knew there was a reason why we didn’t get an iPad! They have also announced a new operating system called “Lion” (original eh?) - this system will be available in summer 2011. The most obvious new features, and the ones people are talking about are a new iPad style desktop to navigate through your applications. The other is a new “Mac App Store” which will work much like that of an iPhone - but for a Mac. Everyone is saying it is basically bringing a iOS focus to the Mac OS. It remains to be seen if this is genius or a step backward.

We arn’t important enough yet to have Apple sent us any products to mess with, smash up and review so instead we will redirect you through to Wired for further details and imminent product reviews.

Dare, an advertising agency in London (and quite an exceptional one at that) have played around with connecting the iPhone and the iPad together to create something quite unique. Dare’s Social Media Planner Michael Litman says, “We wondered ‘what if Andy Warhol was alive today, how he would use an iPad?’ The classic 1982 video of Warhol features him eating a hamburger, but how would that video change if an iPad had been around? In homage to one of the world’s greatest artists we shot our own Innovation Director, Perry Price playing Warhol in the short film. Instead of eating a hamburger as in the original sequence, Perry draws a hamburger using the Remote Palette app instead!”

This is a great example of how two bits of modern technology can work together to create an engaging experience across two platforms, and provide an ode to a creative legend! Nice work Dare!

If you ever wondered if the iPad could be blended down to form a topping for your ice cream then here is your answer.

This is how The Cool Commentator will look on the iPad - not bad, maybe a little biased towards the left. Obviously flash won’t work on the iPad but it is great to have an application that allows us to get some idea of what our beloved blogs and websites will look like on the machine. Click the image to go and find out how you can see your website on the iPad.

Here is a cool motion magazine cover and feature spread - the sign of things to come as the iPad gets closer to its launch! Photographer Alexx Henry, along with co-directors Cory Strassburger and Ming Hsiung have produced an amazing motion magazine cover and feature spread for Viv Mag, an all digital magazine.

The interactive article uses video, sound and print in a remarkable way that really makes you think about the amazing possibilities available in this emerging world of “digital print.”
