A shoe box that isn’t a box but a bag…that is one clever little bag! Puma have decided to scrap the mass of cardboard they have been using to build their shoe boxes and instead create a little bag for to you to take away with you. They partnered with The Fuse Project and spent a mean 21 months working on the project. There are some great environmental results too. Watch the video to find out more!

An animation that can flick between light and dark to show two very different stories. In support of this years Earth Hour happening the 27th of this week, the WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not wrestling:) has teamed up with Hot Chip and The Viral Factory to release an animation video that’s controlled by the light your webcam detects in your room. Don’t have a cam, well, you can also toggle a fake virtual switch to see the difference.
This is a great execution of an idea for a very good cause. The whole world will be going dark for an hour this Saturday and we should all get behind it. This is one of many activities that are beginning to pop up in support of Earth Hour.

I am all for electric cars. You get immediate power when you put your foot down, no turbo lag and no emissions…only problem is you also don’t get very far and you make NO SOUND! What is the point of a fast car if it doesn’t have that throaty gurgle and high pitched whirl of a V12? Well, Chevrolet are testing an electric car that has fake “authentic” sounds wired into it. Hmmm. I really don’t think this is going to work too well but I really hope I will be proved wrong. I plan to buy an electric car one day…when they are good looking, fast, sporty and LOUD! Until then I will stick with my Honda Civic Type R thank you Chev.
This is an incredibly hard hitting advert from planestupid.com targeting the war on global warming. Watch it if you don’t mind some shocking images. This advert has a strong message behind it and I think, even though it could be considered as taking things a little too far, it really rings true. These are the kinds of images you need to hammer into the public to have any lasting effect. It is controversial, provacative and brave. I like it. I’m not at all into the “global warming” debate myself, but this one does make you stop and think.
COKES GOING NAKED! Naughty! No, actually, it is a concept to rid Coke can’s of the environmentally unfriendly paint coating. This coating has to be seperated from the Coke cans during the recycling process. Ultimately, Coke would be much more eco friendly and all that if there were to rid their cans of their clothing (so to speak!) Now, that is the Coca Cola logo embossed onto those cans there…how much environmental impact does mass embossing have?
GOOD.is feature this great infographic showing where most of the emissions effecting the “climate change” are coming from. We are building up to the COP15 Climate Change Conference and GOOD think it is important to look at who is reducing their carbon footprint and who just don’t give a crap. I’m sceptical…can the UK seriously be putting out at 8 over the USA’s 2? Maybe it’s all the cows we have, I hear their methane output causes more destruction than all the cars put together. I was going to get an iPhone 3GS in a couple of weeks but maybe now I will rethink my plans. This here is a new mobile phone that runs on either a cable OR solar power! It is made from layers of flexi material so it basically wraps around your wrist…COOL!!!! Annoyingly, it only has basic call and text features and a LED Dot display. Maybe the 3GS is still in the game…only just though!! Create a flexi multi-touch screen and we’re on!
So this here is a colaboration between Samsung and Sprint who are bringing out the first “sustainable” mobile phone. The casing is made of 80% recycled materials (corn bi-plastics to be precise) and I think…as long as it has a camera and access to the internet, it could be a pretty damn cool thing. Not only is it sustainable, but it is only $50 and $2 goes to charity. So Apple…what are you going to relatiate with?
