The idea behind the Johnny Cash project is - ”Through this interactive website, participants may draw their own portrait of Johnny Cash to be integrated into a collective whole. As people all over the world contribute, the project will continue to evolve and grow, one frame at a time.”
I think it’s brilliant! I love Johnny Cash, he was such a ‘laid bare’ performer. His personal life often overspilled into his performances and lyrics. His song ‘Hurt’ being my favourite. If you can draw, or photoshop you should do your own frame for this collective. Main reason being that just one of these frames alone is a thing of beauty but run together with the track they become something jaw dropping. I must have watched it over and over about 17 times!

Photography that captures the suffering in the Congo. I have always been fairly envious of anyone that possesses a talent for photography. This set by Finbarr o’Reilly are amazing. You can really see some of the strife and pain on these peoples faces. Here are four of my favorites and you can see the rest here: http://ow.ly/1t6my. Please make sure you read the paragraph all about the situation in Congo before you go through them, it explains a lot.

Absolut Genius. Spike Jonze has to be up there with the great modern directors, in my mind he has to be. He has such a fantastic grasp of narrative and emotion that it is hard to resist his works and even more difficult not to smile a bit gayly whilst watching them. In his short film “i’m here” for Absolut in which two robots fall in love there is great yet simple beauty, it’s well shot and the detail on the site very impressive. The melancholy radiating from ‘Sheldon’ at the beginning is almost overwhelming but lightens throughout and I reckon we can all relate to some of the awkwardness from when we first forged relationships. A really lovely example of how we can give ourselves to another person (literally in Sheldon’s case). I was totally captivated throughout.
