Retro is the new cool and you should all be wearing Casio G-Shock watches…you will be the envy of the high street in no time. Not only are these watches cool, they are practical and REALLY easy to tell the time on after a few drinks. Heck, they even have a little back light button like the watches you had as a kid so you can make it glow in the dark, and you all know you loved that when you were younger. Loads of colours, water resistant, shock proof and generally COOL these watches are once again a must have. Forget analogue and go digital!
Better yet…Casio are opening a G-Shock shop in London very soon…

This here is a “Realflow object fill experiment” rendered in Vray, post in After Effects - how ever it was made it is pretty damn cool and well worth keeping in your box of tricks if you ever need some inspiration for a water inspired project.

The idea behind the Johnny Cash project is -  ”Through this interactive website, participants may draw their own portrait of Johnny Cash to be integrated into a collective whole. As people all over the world contribute, the project will continue to evolve and grow, one frame at a time.”
I think it’s brilliant! I love Johnny Cash, he was such a ‘laid bare’ performer. His personal life often overspilled into his performances and lyrics. His song ‘Hurt’ being my favourite. If you can draw, or photoshop you should do your own frame for this collective. Main reason being that just one of these frames alone is a thing of beauty but run together with the track they become something jaw dropping. I must have watched it over and over about 17 times!

I’ve never seen so many animated .gifs on one page…this is a nice little student project depicting workaholic designers in a hot pot of animated gifs. It seems to be a collaborative project and you can generate your own gifs to add to the pot, or take a screensaver from the project. Click your favourite gif and see it cover the entire page. Clever, cunning and pretty damn cool! Click the image to go have a play!

An animation that can flick between light and dark to show two very different stories. In support of this years Earth Hour happening the 27th of this week, the WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not wrestling:) has teamed up with Hot Chip and The Viral Factory to release an animation video that’s controlled by the light your webcam detects in your room. Don’t have a cam, well, you can also toggle a fake virtual switch to see the difference.

This is a great execution of an idea for a very good cause. The whole world will be going dark for an hour this Saturday and we should all get behind it. This is one of many activities that are beginning to pop up in support of Earth Hour.

Follow this link if you want experience the video using your webcam and not just the switch: http://www.myearthhour.org/lightsoff
